Behind the Veil was formed to shed light to the very important yet; so avoided subject of sexuality in the marriage. Studies have shown that sex is one of the three most common reasons for divorce. The scriptural base for this marriage application is; Titus 2:3-5 The meeting/social gathering is hosted the Bride-to-be and the mature women, other married women and new wives of the congregation. The purpose of this meeting is to prepare the often timid, immature and /or never married before bride-to-be for the wedding night, to prevent insecurities, disappointments and guilt. This is laid out in the format of questions and answers, which allow all to answer, comment, and share their experiences in a fun filled and private environment.Divorce Proofing Your Marriage
Studies have shown that marriages remains one of the most important social institutions in Canada, yet still the overall marriage rate in Canada is declining and the divorce rate has been steadily rising. Statistics show that over 4 in 10 marriages end in divorce and 60% of those divorces happen before 15 years of marriage.
When there are dependent children involved, divorce usually leads to the formation of one-parent households therefore structure, security and financial stability slowly becomes eroded, which ultimately effects the quality of life for the children involved.
Recognizing the effects of such marriage breakdown, was our annual marriage retreat developed.
This is initiative entitled “Divorce Proof Your Marriage”, was established in 2009 by our Director Bishop Fern McLean of Church of the Living God International.
The purpose of this program is to give couples gainful and valuable insights that will positively affect their relationships and families.
Divorce Proof Your Marriage retreat offers couples a weekend away in a fun and open forum so that God, self-discovery, re-commitment and romance will be their only focus.
Divorce proofing marriages has proven successful and necessary to each married couple involved. We are greatly encouraged by the testimonials and referrals we receive, of our program making a positive difference in the lives of each couples and ultimately our community. We confidently believe that individuals have the right to be happy, and that couples and their children greatly benefit from an authentically happy relationship.
Inner Sanctum
Inner Sanctum is the male session which is hosted by the groom-to-be and the mature men, other married men and new husbands of the congregation. This is also done with the purpose of preparing the Husband-to-be for his wedding night.
This is also scripturally based on Titus 2:1-6
The format of their session is to alleviate all and any anxiety that could arrive from his expectations and is being encouraged to keep his love God centered.
